Anna Paquin, Hotties

Anna Paquin vamped it up during the "True Blood" panel at Comic-Con. The woman -- best known as Sookie Stackhouse -- turned heads in a bright red Antonio Berardi pencil dress and Gucci peep-toe booties.

Kim Kardashian, Hotties

The reality TV titan delivered a second, equally-sexy look when she arrived at TAO Bistro for her bachelorette dinner in this leather Herve Leger mini, which left little to the imagination.

Kim Kardashian, Reality

Fellow voluptuous vixen Kim Kardashian flaunted her figure in a statement necklace, ankle strap stilettos, and a Noon by Noor LBD at the fashion label's launch party. What do you think of Kim's look? Too hippy ... or totally hot?

Kirstie Alley, New York

Love her or hate her, there's no denying former "Fat Actress" Kirstie Alley's impressive transformation. Upon arriving at a taping of "Late Show With David Letterman," the courageous 60-year-old popped a pose in a curve-hugging fuchsia frock and gold accessories.

Sofia Vergara, Red Carpet

"Modern Family's" Sofia Vergara oozed glamour upon arriving at the star-studded premiere of "The Smurfs" thanks to her purple Missoni column dress and turquoise Lorraine Schwartz earrings.

Heidi Klum, Models

Jessica Alba, Baby Bumps

She may be seven months pregnant, but that certainly hasn't prevented Jessica Alba from looking fabulous. At a recent Lucky magazine event, the mom-to-be showed off her growing baby bump in a ferocious Dolce & Gabbana gown and stacked House of Lavande bracelets.

Ben Roethlisberger spent a gob on his wedding reception

I hate to tell you this, but Ben Roethlisberger(notes) had a wedding reception that cost more than most of us will ever think about making in a year (especially us lonely writers).

Big Ben, who got hitched to Ashley Harlan last weekend, went all out on his post-nuptial ceremony, renting out the Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom for nearly 600 of his closest friends and family.

Price tag on just the space, that included 10 meeting rooms, a convention hall and all the parking spots at the place?$113,265. That doesn't even include a complimentary cocktail! Not to mention the pricey beef tenderloin and halibut on the menu, the floral decorations, additional security or transportation. The catering company alone used 150 employees for the festivities.

People are speculating at the actual price of the reception, with some guessing anywhere from $200 a head to $600 a guest, making the event anywhere from $223,000 to $473,000, meaning that Ben must really like this girl if he's tossing that amount of coin around to make it as grand as he did.

Why is Spirt of Pittsburgh ballroom so expensive? Because of some the luxuries. Ben spent $3,018 just on heating and air-conditioning alone, and just under $1,000 on coat checks.

The paper said more than two dozen Teamsters and carpenters worked to set up and tear down the event, and at least a dozen security guards were on hand.

I've heard of extravagant weddings (and have even been lucky enough to attend one), but paying over six figures just to rent out the spot seems a little insane. Still, the Steelers quarterback is set to make $12.75 million this year, so when you think about it, spending just under 1 percent of your salary on a spot isn't nearly that bad.

Casey Anthony seeking $1.5 million for interview, but will networks bite?

Casey Anthony walked out of a Florida jail and made a carefully orchestrated escape from the media mob that had followed her throughout her daughter's murder case.
Now Anthony wants the attention back. According to several rumors now floating around, including one from Nancy Grace, Anthony and her team of lawyers are seeking at least $1.5 million from television networks interesting in landing her first post-penitentiary interview.
Networks deny that there's any bidding war afoot for an Anthony interview--though as The Cutline has noted, it's not at all unusual for networks to sidestep charges of checkbook journalism by paying big licensing fees for permission to use photo or video footage from an interview subject, as ABC did in a six-figure deal for home movies from Jaycee Dugard, who had been held for 18 years as a sexual captive in California. This time out, however, ABC probably wouldn't be among Anthony's pursuers in the event of a media bidding war, since the network recently announced it was retiring the policy of padding licensing-rights deals for interviewees.
"We can book just about anyone based on the strength of our journalism, the excellence of our anchors, correspondents, and producers, and the size of our audience," ABC spokesman Jeffrey Schneider told Howard Kurtz earlier this week. "These licensing deals had become a crutch, and an unnecessary one."
Before the change of heart, ABC had long defended what critics call "checkbook journalism." In 2008, the network paid Anthony $200,000 for the rights to photos and videos of her daughter Caylee. And, as The Atlantic Wire noted, ABC initially denied it had paid for rights to the first interview with Dugard, only to have an executive admit to the New York Times that they actually paid "six figures."
It's unclear if ABC's rivals at NBC or CBS will bite. Reps for those networks did not immediately respond to requests for comments from The Cutline.
According to Kurtz, ABC executives left the door open to roll back the new no-pay-to-play policy, but only in "an extraordinary circumstance."
Does the case of Casey Anthony qualify?
Intense public interest would seem to indicate that it does. Judge Belvin Perry said that due to "the extraordinary circumstances" surrounding the trial, he had the right to delay the names of the jurors becoming public, even though Florida law requires their names to be released.
On Tuesday, Perry ruled that the names of the jurors will not be released "until sufficient time has passed to allow those enraged by the verdict and who might instinctively react with violence to compose and restrain themselves."
He also ripped the media for creating a circus-like atmosphere around the trial.
"It was reported that television ratings for the trial were extraordinary," Perry wrote. "Clearly, the broadcast of an official and serious court proceeding such as this trial where a young girl was dead and her mother faced the death penalty devolved into cheap, soap-opera-like entertainment."

Tiger Woods’ finished practice facility at home is incredible

Yes, Tiger Woods might not be teeing it up for the rest of the season, and yes, he seems to be falling down the rankings faster than the likes of David Duval, but that doesn't mean the 14-time major winner is going to stop plans on his $55 million house in Florida, complete with a four-green practice facility that makes most golf courses look like your local putt-putt course.
Photos emerged from Tiger's website, and his practice facility blows the likes of Rory McIlroy's out of the water, complete with different greens set for different winds and all types of bunkers to practice from.
It shows that even if Tiger isn't totally healthy right now, when he's ready to get back on the golf course, he will be well prepared.
Photos from all angles are after the jump, and trust me, it's well worth looking through, if nothing else to realize how great it must be to play golf for a living.

Jesse James and Sandra Bullock

Shortly after Bullock won an Oscar for The Blind Side in March, she learned that her husband of nearly five years had been cheating on her with tattoo model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee and others. "I took a pretty amazing life and marriage and threw it away," the West Coast Choppers CEO later said.

Harris Blabs About Sex Life, Hef Calls Her a Liar

Hugh Hefner's ex-fiancee, Crystal Harris, is hurling more insults at the aged Playboy founder... this time on the radio with talk show host Howard Stern. Harris claims Hef, 85, lasted "like two seconds" in the bedroom, adding, "I just, like, walked away. I'm turned off by Hef."

When Stern asked why the Playboy model said yes to Hefner's wedding proposal, she replied, "I think that's what I wanted right then." The 25-year-old also revealed, "I've never seen Hef naked. I couldn't stomach it."
Hugh fired back on Twitter, saying, "Sex with Crystal the first night was good enough so that I kept her over two more nights... Crystal lied about our relationship on Howard Stern but I don't know why."
The famous bachelor also said he feels "sorry for Crystal" because "she seems lost."
Hef very publicly moved on from Harris just days after their wedding was called off in June, and says he's in a "better place with new girlfriends Anna Sophia Berglund and Shera Bechard."

"Extra's" Terri Seymour caught up with "America's Got Talent" host Nick Cannon after the show Tuesday -- and he talked about his wife Mariah Carey's recent stint on the Home Shopping Network.
"My wife was off the chain," Cannon laughed. "She was running the Home Shopping Network!"
While Carey was on HSN selling her jewelry line, Cannon made a brief appearance. He explained, "Yeah, I just showed, said hello, kissed her, got on a plane and came here. That's love. Show up and do what the missus tells you."

Denise Richards Shows Off Her New Baby Girl

Actress-turned-author Denise Richards took a trip to New York with her girls, including her new daughter, Eloise Joni, and was snapped heading into an eatery.
Check out the pic, courtesy of X17Online.com! Click here for more pictures of Richards and Eloise, along with daughters Sam, 7, and Lola, 6.

Richards recently released a new tell-all, "The Real Girl Next Door," in which the mother of three candidly talks about her relationship with ex-husband Charlie Sheen. "I got married to a man who I thought was my everlasting soul mate and became a mother to my two beautiful daughters," she told Life & Style magazine. "But then the bottom dropped out of that fantasy."
Richards does say that despite all the drama that went on during their divorce in 2006, she has now learned to accept Sheen and has forged a solid friendship with the father of her two daughters.
"Charlie is on his own path, and this is his lifestyle he has chosen," she said, adding, "That doesn't mean I condone it, but I've learned to accept it. One thing I know for sure: I'll always be there for Charlie."

George Clooney Purposely Postponed Political Pic

Writer/director/actor George Clooney knew his next film, "The Ides of March," would stir the political pot -- so that's why he kept it on the shelf for awhile.
As an adaptation of the stage play about an idealistic aide (Ryan Gosling) who learns a hard lesson in dirty politics when he begins working for a newbie presidential candidate (Clooney) on the campaign trail, "March" is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, but was originally planned for release in 2008.
Clooney told USA Today he felt that the national mood was too upbeat during the presidential election that year, so he tabled his "cynical political movie" until now. "The cynicism seems to have come back," he said.

The Oscar-nominated director also said he decided to make his character, Governor Mike Morris, a Democrat, to quash any claims that the film had a personal agenda.
"Republicans hate the beginning of the movie, the Democrats hate the end," Clooney proudly stated about screening the film for both sides of the political spectrum. "So we're good."
"The Ides of March" also stars Marisa Tomei, Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Evan Rachel Wood and is set for wide release October 7.

Private Funeral Held for Amy Winehouse

Friends and family gathered to pay their respects to Amy Winehouse at a private funeral held in London on Tuesday. The singer was found dead in her London home on Saturday.

The ceremony was held at Edgwarebury Cemetery and is expected to be followed by cremation, and a family gathering at a local synagogue, according to the Associated Press.
Among the famous guests in attendance were Kelly Osbourne, who showed up wearing her hair in a beehive, Amy's signature 'do

The singer's boyfriend of two years, director Reg Traviss, released his first public statement, telling The Sun on Tuesday, "The last three days have been hell. I have lost my darling who I love very much. We've suffered a terrible untimely loss and want peace now."

Amy's father, Mitch Winehouse, immediately flew to London from a gig in NYC after learning of his daughter's death. Mitch and Amy's mother went to the 27-year-old's North London home and thanked the fans and well-wishers gathered outside. "This means so much to my family," Mitch said, "We're devastated."

An autopsy was performed Monday, but did not immediately determine a cause of death. The police are currently waiting for the toxicology results, which could take up to four weeks.
Winehouse leaves behind an estimated fortune of $15 - $30 million, as well as "a lot of material" that has not been released to the public, according to the Daily Telegraph. Amy reportedly did not leave her a dime to ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, reports Daily Mail. The songstress made provisions to ensure Fielder-Civil was left out of her will following their divorce in 2009.
Although it is not common for 27-year-olds to have a will in place, because of Winehouse's large amount of wealth, it is speculated that she most likely had one. In the event that she did not have one, her fortune would be divided among family members according to British law.

Captain and mom Rampone knows best

FRANKFURT, Germany – Christie Rampone believes her status as the “Supermom” of United States soccer has helped her chances of lifting the World Cup trophy on Sunday.
Rampone is the only mother on the USA team, having given birth to Rylie, 5, and 1-year-old Reece before returning to her role as team captain, and she is playing some of the best soccer of her career.
The 36-year-old Rampone will play her last-ever World Cup game during Sunday’s final against Japan, and she insists the pressures of motherhood have made her an even better player.

“Being a mom, you enjoy the game even more,” Rampone told Yahoo! Sports. “Doing two things that I love makes it easier as an athlete and it has made me stronger. After a bad day I can’t afford to dwell on it because I have the kids, they don’t care if I have won or lost, they still want Mom.
“That helps your mentality, it adds some perspective. I don’t sweat the small stuff. You don’t take every practice home with you. The only way to handle it is to give 100 percent on the field, and then 100 percent to my other job.”
Rampone’s husband, Chris, has remained at home with their children, but she has maintained contact with family life by after every game or training session with lengthy Skype chats back home.
In between, Rampone also plays a mentoring role with several younger members of the USA squad, having a wealth of experience built up from having played in four World Cups and three Olympic Games.
Rampone’s dual role has been a source of inspiration to many of her teammates, who marvel at the way she organizes her time.

“She is my hero and a great role model,” said midfielder Megan Rapinoe. “She is Supermom, Superwoman, whatever you want to call her. When I get home from training I want to pass out in my bed, she has to look after her kids every day. I don’t know how she juggles it.”
There is some scientific evidence to suggest that pregnancy can actually have a positive physical effect for athletes, with a 2007 study revealing that the process can increase blood volume in the body by up to 60 percent – boosting oxygen flow to the muscles. Rapinoe describes Rampone as the “best athlete on the squad. She is a machine.”
During the Beijing Olympics in 2008, when the side won the gold medal, Rampone’s older daughter was present and participated in the celebrations following a victory over Brazil in the final.
“The kids are like part of the team when they are around,” said defender Rachel Buehler, who is expected to return to the starting lineup after serving a suspension in the semifinal. “It is like they have become part of our own family, we see them as like our own little sisters or cousins and we have a great time with them.”
Rampone is bidding to become the first USA captain since Carla Overbeck in 1999 to lift the World Cup trophy. And barring a huge upset she is relishing the chance to bring the Cup back home.
“I miss the kids and I can’t wait to be back with them,” she said. “Hopefully I will have a gold medal to show them very soon, and when they are older tell them about the day their mom won the World Cup.”

Man builds his own million dollar Bugatti supercar by hand

The Bugatti Veyron is a modern automotive legend. The sleek speedster from Volkswagen boasts a top speed of over 260mph, making it the fastest road-legal car in the world, and it has a stunningly large $1.5 million price tag to match. Because of this astronomical cost of entry, only a few hundred of the vehicles have ever been built, meaning your chances of owning one are rather slim. That is, unless you're Mike Duff, an ambitious 25-year-old from Florida who decided to build his very own Bugatti with his bare hands.
Starting with a complete 2002 Mercury Cougar coupe, Duff set to work transforming the vehicle's entire exterior into that of a world-class supercar. He used fiberglass and composite material to create the Veyron's iconic lines, and laid it all over a tubular steel frame. After a professional paint job and plenty of buffing, the car was ready for the showroom, but Duff wasn't done yet. He then took to the Cougar's interior, covering everything from the seats to the dashboard in genuine leather. When we spoke with him, he said the project took him a full 9 months from start to finish.
The detailed doppelgänger even sports usable back seats, which is something the real million-dollar ride completely lacks. Speaking of price, that's another area where this fantastic fake beats out its original counterpart. Duff currently has the vehicle up for sale with a price of $89,000 — less than 1/10th the price of a genuine Veyron.

Unfortunately, while that price will buy you the looks of a barely-legal race car, it doesn't buy you the performance. Under its gorgeous exterior, the "Cougatti" is still distinctly pedestrian, and remains equipped with its original 2.5-liter V6 engine that produces roughly 170 horsepower. This is in stark contrast to the 8-liter 16-cylinder powerplant of the real car, which produces a neck-snapping 1,000 horses.
Still, for the price of a Porsche, there's not much you can complain about when the car is a nearly indistinguishable replica of the fastest road car in the world. Not to mention the fact that some other Bugatti tributes can cost an order of magnitude more, and are never meant to leave your office.

The pair, who became engaged in November, flew 35 wedding guests to the secret location as a surprise. "Nobody knew where they were going," Minnillo, 30, told People.

Added Lachey, "Our wedding invitations were in the form of a plane ticket. We told them they were going away and the attire was 'island chic.' It was all very vague."
Minnillo wore a two-piece Monique Lhuillier ensemble, while Lachey, 37, sported a Dolce & Gabanna suit.

Girlfriend of pharmaceutical exec found dead at his home

SAN DIEGO (Reuters) - The girlfriend of a pharmaceutical company CEO has been found dead at his mansion near San Diego, prompting an investigation by homicide detectives, police said on Thursday.
The body of Rebecca Nalepa, 32, was discovered on Wednesday morning at the seaside home owned by Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp chief executive Jonah Shacknai in Coronado, an upscale island beach resort connected to San Diego by a long bridge.
A statement posted online by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department identified Nalepa as the girlfriend of the homeowner.
Land records show that Shacknai, whose Scottsdale, Arizona-based company is maker of the acne treatment Solodyn and wrinkle-filler Restylane, purchased the landmark property known as the Spreckels Mansion several months ago.
The local television station 10News showed overhead video footage broadcast from its news helicopter of the crime scene in the mansion's courtyard on Wednesday, and reported that the woman was found naked and bound with rope.
"The condition of the victim and the scene showed suspicious circumstances that initiated the response" from homicide investigators, the sheriff's department statement said.
The sheriff's department is handling the case in conjunction with the Coronado Police Department. A news conference on the investigation was scheduled for later on Thursday.
Medicis issued a brief statement on the incident without giving details.
"The Medicis family is deeply saddened to learn of a tragic incident at a California property owned by Jonah Shacknai," the company said. "Our thoughts are with Jonah and his family and ask that the family's privacy be respected during this difficult period. At this time, the company has no further comment."
Shares of the company, which reported 2010 revenues of $700 million, tumbled by as much as 5 percent following news of the investigation.

Glee: Lea, Cory, Chris All Leaving Next Year

It looks like Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer are among the "Glee" cast members permanently graduating at the end of Season 3 in 2012.

The hit FOX show just earned a slew of Emmy nominations, including one for Colfer, who toasted his nod for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series with "Extra's" Jerry Penacoli, and confirmed that this coming season will be his last.

"Do I wanna leave the show? Absolutely not," said Colfer. "This is home for me, but I understand. It's time for a conclusion."

"Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy broke the news to the Hollywood Reporter. "You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic, or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year."

"We've never done anything by the book," Murphy explained. "We made that decision and I involved Chris and Lea and they thought that was a good idea. They both trust the writing and trust me, and felt that it would be great to have an open and closed experience for them to go out while they were on top."

Murphy added that planning for the future beyond high school will be one of the main themes in the upcoming Season 3, saying "more characters are leaving than are staying" when graduation time comes at season's end.

Who goes and who stays will be revealed in the September 20th season premiere of "Glee" on FOX.

.

Smart is currently a student at Brigham Young University.
